Programs for Teachers: Overview
Free Teacher Open House, Wednesday, September 26, 4-6 p.m.

Children’s Education at the Garden provides innovative, hands-on professional development opportunities for science educators. Our current programs for teachers include the following:

1. Professional Development Workshops

Learn how to use the Botanical Garden as an extension of your classroom. Providing content and guidance to teachers, including:
  • Classroom activities
  • Discussion points
  • Reproducible curriculum
Individual sessions or 10-part series. Saturday and school-break sessions available.

2. Professional Development Seminars

Our staff will work with you to design a program, such as:
  • The Basics of Botany
  • Introduction to the Forest
  • Nature for Early Learners

3. Summer Institutes

A week-long immersion in ecology and botanical science led by scientists and educators. Learn how to make science fun, through field-tested, hands-on, inquiry based activities.
