Financial aid is available in several forms (i.e., scholarships and loans). Financial aid awards are made by the Financial Committee, which consists of the Garden’s Vice President for Education, and Director of the School of Professional Horticulture
Title IV
The School of Professional Horticulture is eligible and certified by the U.S. Department of Education to administer Title IV funds (Pell grants and Stafford loans) to qualified students. Students may apply on line at

First-Year Students
Aid applications are distributed in mid-October

Applications are due November 15.

Notification will be by December 15.
Scholarship awards are variable, based on:
Demonstrated financial needs (80%)

Scholastic and practical achievement (20%)
Second-Year Students
Ethan David Gluck Scholarship Fund
Instructions for second-year aid sources will be distributed to students in the summer quarter of the first year. Scholarship awards are announced prior to the winter quarter of the second year. Award criteria for the Ethan David Gluck Scholarship are the same as first-year students (above) with an additional requirement of a minimum 2.3 grade point average.
The Rupert Green Memorial Loan Fund
Loans are awarded in winter quarter of the second year. Students apply to the Director in December of their first year. Students must sign a promissory note for the loan plus interest. Full payment of the loan with simple annual interest will be due one (1) year following graduation. No deferrals or extensions will be granted.
Veterans Administration Educational Benefits
Veterans who were in the United States armed forces between 1955 and 1977 may be eligible for benefits. Contact the Director for further information.
