Community Composter Certificate Course
March 21; April 11 & 25; May 30 & 18; June 8
Thursdays, 6–8 p.m. | Saturdays, 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
The Bronx Green-Up Community Composter Certificate Course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of community composting, including hands-on training. Topics discussed in the course include the history of composting, the science of soil health, cover crops, community composting, waste reduction & recycling, effective outreach, and more.
Required for Certification:
- Attend 6 Workshops (2 hours each)
- Virtual Workshops: Thursdays, 6–8 p.m. • March 21, April 11, April 25, May 30
- In-Person Workshops: Saturdays, 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. • May 18, June 8
- Complete 15 volunteer hours of compost-related fieldwork with Bronx Green-Up
- Complete a Final Project
All are welcome to apply; however, priority will be given to Bronx Community Gardeners/ Urban Farmers and School Educators.
Limited capacity of 35 students per cohort.
