Bronx Neighbors Program

Bronx Residents are invited to experience the seasonal beauty across our 250 acres, free of charge. Find out what’s beautiful now and explore the winding trails of our old-growth forest and stately conifers throughout the Garden. Dig deeper into our collections with mobile guides and enjoy a self-guided forest bathing experience. Bring the whole family for seasonal fun throughout the grounds and in the Edible Academy.

The Grounds Access Pass is available Tuesday–Sunday and holiday Mondays. Includes daytime access to the outdoor gardens and collections; does not include access to the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, indoor exhibitions, special events, or evening events. Proof of Bronx residency is required. Parking fee is not included.

New York City Resident Grounds Access Pass

On Tuesday, and Thursday–Sunday; Grounds Access Pass is available for purchase to NYC Residents only. Proof of residency is required and may only be purchased onsite. On Wednesdays, Grounds Access Pass is free to NYC residents all day and to all other visitors between 10‒11 a.m.

Grounds Access Pass includes daytime access to outdoor gardens and collections, including seasonal children’s pop-up programming; does not include access to the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, indoor exhibitions, special events, or evening events.

  • American Alliance of Museums (AAM)
    AAM Professional Members receive one free Grounds Access Pass per visit with valid membership card.

  • APGA Individual and Institutional Members are entitled to one free Grounds Access Pass upon presentation of a valid membership card or institution ID.

  • From Armed Forces Day through Labor Day, we offer complimentary All-Garden Pass access to active duty military, including Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, National Guard, and Reserve members, with up to five family members. The military ID holder can either be an active duty service member or other dependent family member with the appropriate ID card. The active duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program, just bring DD Form 1173 ID Card, or DD Form 1173-1 ID Card. Learn more.

  • Cool Culture-eligible families enjoy access to NYC’s world-class cultural institutions. Family Pass holders receive complimentary All-Garden Pass access during the majority of the year for up to five family members per visit with valid Family Pass and photo ID. Cool Culture pass holders receive Grounds Access Passes only during the annual Holiday Train Show, which do not provide access to the exhibition in the Haupt Conservatory. Learn more.

  • The New York Botanical Garden is pleased to participate in the Culture Pass program by providing complimentary Grounds Access Pass on weekdays. Passes must be reserved online in advance via the Culture Pass website. Learn more.

  • Students, faculty, and employees of Fordham University receive one free Grounds Access Pass per visit with valid Fordham University ID.

  • Two free Grounds Access Passes are extended to employees of MCNYC institutions. Valid ID Pass is required.

  • Since 2004, eight of New York City’s leading cultural institutions, including The New York Botanical Garden, have worked with the New York City Department of Education to support cutting-edge science instruction in the city’s middle schools as part of the Urban Advantage Program—adding elementary schools to the initiative starting in 2016.

    • Students with an Urban Advantage Student +3 Voucher receive free All-Garden Pass admission for themselves and up to 3 guests. *Voucher can be redeemed at any Ticketing Window.
    • Urban Advantage teachers and parent coordinators with an Urban Advantage Teacher/PC Admission Voucher receive free All-Garden Pass admission with up to 3 guests. *Voucher can be redeemed at any Ticketing Window.
    • Teachers in the Urban Advantage program may redeem an Urban Advantage Class Visit Voucher for a guided workshop or tour. Please call 718.817.8181 to register and see our Class Trips page for more details.
    • Parent coordinators with an Urban Advantage School Community Trip Voucher receive free All-Garden Pass admission for up to 40 guests on non-school days. Reserve tickets in advance by contacting teachered@nybg.org.

    *Due to capacity limits, voucher redemption is subject to ticket availability.
