McDowell’s beautifully illustrated talk reveals how the plants and places of Dickinson’s life influenced her work, and highlights three noted botanical artists who were her contemporaries.

After her lecture, Marta will join in a lively conversation with Alice Quinn. The long-time head of the Poetry Society of America, Quinn was poetry editor at The New Yorker for two decades and currently teaches at Columbia University.
