A Few of Her Favorite Things: Hannah Elliott
Posted in Shop/Book Reviews on November 18 2010, by Plant Talk
Hannah Elliott, lifestyle writer and blogger for Forbes, has one of the more enviable beats we can imagine; she is tasked with writing about cars, fashion, luxury, and books in a way that doesn’t make “the muscle-heads hate the fashionistas in the process.”
If anyone can do it, Hannah can (Sample tweet: Do not buy the R8 Spyder if you’re shy or unfriendly. People love this car & want to know all about it, all the time. Huge attention getter). She’s stylish without being style conscious, intelligent without being nerdy, and can hang at the test track with even the most die hard gearheads.
And as might be expected, this breadth of interests and versatility of understanding surfaces in Hannah’s list of her “Favorite Things” for holiday gifts from the Shop in the Garden.
For the Gardener
This is the perfect gift for the hobbyist gardener. I like the vintage look of this large watering can and the way that its metal exterior and long neck are totally practical and no nonsense in their simplicity.
For the Host or Hostess
I might not splurge enough to buy this acorn and oak leaf sauce bowl for myself–so it’d be really fun to get from (or give as) a dinner guest.
For Kids
Whether they live in the city or in the country, children will pour over these darling stories. I especially love that this series comes with the original illustrations by Beatrix Potter herself.
For Him
This NYBG Mult-Tool is like a huge Leatherman tool pocket knife with an actual holster. Even I’d feel manly wearing that.
For Her
Beautifully photographed inspiration for the lady who sees fashion in all facets of life.
For Me
Because who wouldn’t want to smell like fresh orange and jasmine?
For the Artist or Writer
I love the detail and the messages in these shots of nature by Man Ray. They’d inspire any artist or writer.
