January 2011 was all about snow. It snowed and snowed, and snowed again, turning the Garden into a winter wonderland.

And in the Garden’s 120th year, one of our scientists, the bryologist Bill Buck traveled to one of the literal ends of the earth, Cape Horn, to carry one of NYBG’s founding missions; plant research.

In the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, visitors basked in the warmth and marveled at the beauty of our permanent collection during Caribbean Garden.
