And the Winners Are … The Caribbean Garden Photography Contest

Posted in Photography on March 14 2012, by Ann Rafalko

Drum roll please, because after six weeks of gorgeous photographs taken during the Caribbean Garden Photography Contest, we finally have our two Grand Prize winners. So without further ado I give you:

The Sense of Place Grand Prize Winner: Mika Sato’s serene shot of the Aquatic Plants Gallery

The Macro Grand Prize Winner: Barbara Reiner’s technicolor shot of a Passionflower

Congratulations Barbara and Mika! You will each receive a $100 gift certificate good toward any of the classes offered by the Garden’s Adult Education program! These shots were both the runaway winners in their categories: Mika’s shot so perfectly captures the serene atmosphere of this most tranquil of houses, while Barbara’s photograph verges on the scientific with its exaggerated colors and eye-popping textures. We will message you on Flickr with full details.

And while we do not have prizes for our runners’ up, we want to acknowledge those photographs and photographers whose beautiful shots also inspired us.
