This Saturday & Sunday is the first of this year’s Spring Weekends at NYBG. Come kick off a new season of fun with the Native Plant Garden Wine Weekend on May 2 & 3—two days of tastings, tours, and live music in the most beautiful spring atmosphere New York has to offer! Purchase a souvenir wine glass to begin your journey through a flight of palate-pleasing wines from the top wine tours in New York State and beyond. Read on for details!

Light refreshments will be available for purchase from Stephen STARR Events as experts on winemaking and pairing deliver a series of talks and presentations about their craft. Enjoy it all to the sound of bluegrass and folk tunes performed live by Milton, or join a Garden Guide to explore the most vibrant outdoor collections of the New York Botanical Garden in spring. Admire the lush pink and purple blooms in the Azalea Garden, or explore the many habitats and microclimates of the Native Plant Garden—designed by the great American landscape architecture firm Oehme van Sweden.

This weekend will also feature a very special reading and book signing on May 3. Join Arlene Alda accompanied by her husband Alan Alda as she shares her stories about growing up in the Bronx! The vivid oral histories in Arlene Alda’s Just Kids from the Bronx reveal what it was like to grow up in the place that raised generations of accomplished and influential individuals in all fields of endeavor.

To reserve your seat at this special reading, please call Lisa Sifre at 718.817.8545 or email lsifre@nybg.org. Remember to purchase your tickets to Native Plant Garden Wine Weekend and come enjoy a warm spring afternoon here at NYBG!
