Experience al Fresco Garden Dining with Mario Batali’s Famed Chefs

With summer’s warmth and the verdant greenery that fills the landscape around this time of year, it’s almost a given that most of us will spend at least one night enjoying an al fresco meal in view of the setting sun, soaking up the benefits of shorts-and-sandals weather while there’s still time to spare. Of course, dining outdoors with the benefit of a top-tier chef at the helm is that much better, right?
Because dining al fresco doesn’t have to be a hamburger affair (at least not every time), NYBG is back with its Family Dinners, three exclusive opportunities to experience the Garden in summer with Mario Batali‘s expert chefs providing the multi-course menu.
It all takes place in the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, where chefs from the Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group’s acclaimed restaurants cook up garden-to-table meals as you enjoy kid-friendly events and activities in this hands-on collection of vegetable beds. From live cooking demonstrations in the outdoor Whole Foods Market® Family Garden Kitchen to potting up plant seeds and more, there’s plenty to do while dinner is prepared. Once ready, you can expect a series of incredible dishes prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients by some of the best gourmets in the business.
It all starts July 19—but there are limited seats! New this year, Family Dinners with Mario Batali’s Chefs are open to anyone who wants to take part, so don’t wait too long to get your tickets. Head through for registration, or check out the first menu by acclaimed chefs Frank Langello of Babbo and Dan Drohan of Otto, featuring eggplant, chili, and mint bruschetta; orecchiette with rainbow chard and sausage; and a wide range of other treats to make for a memorable experience.
