In general, our material corresponds macroscopically to a broad concept of L. crocipodium: rugulose to pitted pileus, yellow hymenophore, and yellow to caramel-colored scabers on the stipe. However, the white flesh of the Costa Rican collections did not exhibit any change (reddening then blackening) after exposure to the air, and the pileus is darker. We have it from only a few sites in the northern Talamancas.
