Albatrellus peckianus (Cke.) Niemalä

Known from forests in northeastern North America, this is a first report from oak forests in montane Central America. It is a highly distinctive species of Albatrellus in that it produces considerable petaloid pilei on a highly branched stipe. The brownish yellow pilei contrast markedly with the white hymenophore. Dra. J. Carranza kindly provided the i.d.
