The decurrent, subdistant lamellae, eccentric stipe, yellow overtones, and evanescent veil are diagnostic field characters. It occurs on dead oak logs in Costa Rica. So far, we know it from only one locality in the northern Talamancas. It is another agaric with a north temperate heritage and most certainly migrated into Costa Rica with Quercus.
