This fungus has a spongy to leathery/tough texture, coral pink pileus surface. The pallid hyemnophore is nearly pore-like, resembling a radiating network of irregular folds. It occurs on dead logs and stumps of hardwoods in the eastern United States. It appears to be restricted to Quercus in Costa Rica.
