This bolete has been found only twice in a Quercus forest of the southern Talamancas in the Las Tablas Protected Zone. The subtomentose pileus and stipe (typically eccentric), frequently decurrent hymenophore, bruising reactions of the hymenophore, stipe and pileus separate this fungus from other boletes in the area. |
