Citizen Science Workshop:
Botanical Exploration of Hawai‘i

Saturday, October 20, 2018

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

As Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai‘i comes to a close, join us on an important citizen science expedition focused on the plants of Hawai‘i. To help generate valuable data for researchers working to document biodiversity and protect threatened ecosystems, participants will learn how to navigate NYBG’s online tools to interpret herbarium specimens collected on the islands of Hawai‘i. As part of this workshop, participants will learn about Hawaiian plant biodiversity and get a private tour of the Steere Herbarium with a focus on Hawaiian plant exploration. If you can’t make it to the workshop, join the expedition online.
