Day Two | Saturday, April 26

Visit to Winterthur Museum and Garden & Lunch in the Peony Garden

We will travel to the historic neighborhood of Winterthur for curated garden tours from experts and for a lunch, immersed in preserved nature. Winterthur Museum and Gardens is home to 1,000 acres of protected meadows, woodlands, and waterways. Designed by Henry Francis du Pont, the 60-acre garden is full of magnificent collections and naturalistic gardens. We will enjoy lunch outside in the Peony Garden.

Visit to a Private Garden, Patterns

After lunch at Winterthur, we will travel just down the road to visit the garden and estate Patterns. Patterns is now the home of Elise DuPont, but it holds a rich history of collaboration between several designers, originally designed by AIA’s 1960 Architect of the Year, I.W. Colburn. We will enjoy a private curated tour from head gardener Chris Scott.

Visit to Longwood Gardens

In the late afternoon, we will make one last garden visit to Longwood Gardens. At the end of November 2024, Longwood launched a new garden experience, Longwood Reimagined, the largest component of the project being the new 32,000-square-foot West Conservatory. Longwood Reimagined also includes a reconstruction of their cascade garden, a new bonsai courtyard, an enhanced water lily court, and an expansion of their beloved orchid house. Longwood Gardens President and CEO, Paul B. Redman, will personally give us our tour of the grounds.

Welcome Dinner & Cocktail Reception

After our garden-packed day, the group will come back together on Saturday evening for a private dining experience at the Four Seasons.

Day Three | Sunday, April 27

Visit to Chanticleer Garden

We will depart Philadelphia and head to the Main Line, to visit Chanticleer Garden. We will enjoy coffee and refreshments by the Tea Cup Garden before immersing ourselves in all Chanticleer has to offer, with a private curated tour of the grounds. Chanticleer is filled with unique, impressive, and beautiful spaces like the gravel garden, pond garden, tennis court garden, the ruin garden, and more. The garden is a study of texture and forms, where even the drinking fountains are sculptural.

Lunch at Terrain Café

After Chanticleer, we will travel just down the road for lunch at Terrain Café—a farm-to-table café where horticulture and gardening meets home and dining. We will enjoy a private lunch in their venue space, followed by the opportunity to shop their upscale nursery, gardening and home store, and Anthropologie.
