Celebration of Spring: Bronx Arts Ensemble Woodwind Quintet

Join the Bronx Arts Ensemble at The New York Botanical Garden’s Ross Hall for a celebration of spring! The Bronx Arts Ensemble woodwind quintet will perform a concert of works inspired by of the natural world. Valerie Coleman’s cheerful Umoja; an excerpt from Aaron Copland’s monumental Appalachian Spring; John MacDowell’s To a Wild Rose transcribed by BAE clarinetist Mitchell Kriegler; Amy Beach’s meditative Pastorale; and Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s 1922 quintet, which was composed as an exploration of his fondness for wind instruments and his love of nature, and his fascination for living, breathing things.
