Citizen Science Workshop: Alpine Flowers and Climate Change

Saturday, October 19, 2019

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Learn to participate in biodiversity research as a citizen scientist for NYBG! Attendees will help document occurrences of plant species from around the world by interpreting preserved specimens from our Herbarium. Our current project focuses on chronicling alpine plants in order to explore long-term responses to climate change in high-elevation environments. As part of this workshop, participants will learn about alpine plant biodiversity and get a private tour of the Steere Herbarium. If you’re enthusiastic about citizen science at NYBG but cannot make it to this workshop, you can also join our virtual expedition online!
