NYBG + Community Open House
Saturday, March 1, 2025
10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. | Mertz Library
Join NYBG’s Herbarium + Community Gardens Initiative for our Community Open House. This event will feature a guided tour of the William & Lynda Steere Herbarium and talks from NYBG staff members Dr. Lucas Mertehikian (Director, Humanities Institute), Zoe Arcidiacono (Outreach & Education Coordinator, Bronx Green Up), Brooke Lorenzetti (Garden Manager, Edible Academy), Ashley Aberg (Reference Archivist, LuEsther T. Mertz Library), and Kenneth Walker (Biocultural Diversity Collections Project Manager, William & Lynda Steere Herbarium). This is a great opportunity to learn about valuable resources available at NYBG, connect with staff, and meet fellow community members.
This event is funded in part by the Humanities of NY Action Grant through the Herbarium + Community Initiative, an interdisciplinary collaboration between community members and the NYBG Herbarium, Humanities Institute, and Bronx Green-Up. Light food and refreshments will be provided.
