Professor Manabu Noda was born in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. He began his study of Ikenobo ikebana in 1978. In 1984, he received a master’s degree in Asian Studies from the University of Illinois in the U.S. In 2010, he was appointed as Professor of the Ikenobo Central Training Institute, Kyoto.
Prof. Noda has actively engaged in a wide range of ikebana activities such as the workshops of Ikenobo Chapters, events of Ikebana International, and teaching ikebana in universities. He has given demonstrations and workshops, and has participated in exhibitions throughout Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia.
In 1996 and 1999, he was Ikenobo Headquarters Special Visiting Professor to the United States and Canada. His most recent visit was to Dallas, America for Ikebana International 18th North & Central American Regional Conference held on October 27 through November 1, 2019.
