Lush deciduous leaves hanging from trees frame a scene of rocks planted with flowers and surrounded by green grass

Improv Everywhere: Surrounding

September 12 & 19, 2021

1, 2, & 3 p.m.

Improv Everywhere stages unexpected performances for all ages in public spaces that are meant to “cause a scene” in the most enchanting and joyful way. The group will stage one of their so-called “missions” at the Garden in a piece titled Surrounding, an interactive musical event that will allow participants to collectively create an epic multi-point sound experience featuring music by Peter Bayne. Surrounding is created by Improv Everywhere’s founder, Charlie Todd, and composer and app developer Tyler Walker, the duo behind the legendary Mp3 Experiment series.

Smartphone required for participation by downloading the Surrounding app on iOS or Android; visit the Surrounding Tent at the Lawn in front of the LuEsther T. Mertz Library Building 15 minutes prior to performance time to join the experience.
