Tips for Your Visit

  • The New York Botanical Garden is generally open for daytime All-Garden Pass access to CHIHULY from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday. On select nights, CHIHULY Nights will take place from 6:30–10:30 p.m.

    Get your tickets online before you visit for guaranteed access to the exhibition. Select the free print-at-home delivery method and bring your printed tickets with you (we cannot accept mobile tickets) to skip the line at the entry gate when you arrive. Members, please bring your Member card, parking pass, and guest passes. Day and night programs require separate tickets. View our calendar for daily hours of operation and program schedules.

  • In addition to CHIHULY, All-Garden Pass tickets include daytime admission to the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, Library Building, Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, Rock Garden, Tram Tour, Garden grounds, and all exhibitions and public programs on the day of your visit. All-Garden Pass tickets are always free for active Garden Members.

    We recommend setting aside two hours to view CHIHULY. Plan for additional time to explore all the Garden’s permanent collections. Access to the Conservatory and Library Building is granted on a space-available basis and there may be a wait on peak days.

  • View Chihuly’s dramatically illuminated works of art throughout the landscape and in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory alongside a rotating slate of live performances by musicians and visual artists.

    Special tickets must be purchased for CHIHULY Nights and are discounted for Members. Guest passes are not accepted. We strongly recommend reserving in advance, as sell out is likely.

    CHIHULY Nights take place at night and darkness is required to fully enjoy the experience. Optimal viewing varies, but generally follows this monthly schedule: April: 8 p.m.; May, June, & July: 8:30 p.m.; August: 8 p.m.; September & October: 7 p.m. Chihuly Nights takes place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.; arrive at any time during this time range.

    Plan for approximately two hours to experience Chihuly Nights. Tram service does not operate at night. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

    The Library Building is closed during Chihuly Nights. Access to the Conservatory is granted on a space-available basis and there may be a wait on peak days.

  • June 16, July 14, August 18; 6:30–10:30 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m.

    Special tickets must be purchased for NYBG Summer Concert Series: JAZZ & CHIHULY and are discounted for Members. Guest passes are not accepted. We strongly recommend reserving in advance, as sell-out is likely.

    The concert begins at 7 p.m. on the Conservatory Lawn; access to the lawn begins at 6 p.m. After the concert, view Chihuly’s dramatically illuminated works of art throughout the landscape and in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.

    Although a small number of chairs and blankets will be available, you may bring your own blanket or low-back chair. Post-concert, chairs and other large items must be left outside the Conservatory in the designated holding area.

    Dine at Hudson Garden Grill before the show (last reservation at 5:30 p.m.), order a gourmet picnic box online to pick up and enjoy during the performance, or stop in at any one of several other dining options. If you’d like to picnic during the concert, you may purchase food and beverages at the Garden. Outside alcohol is not permitted.

    The Library Building and portions of the grounds will be closed for the duration of the event. Tram service does not operate at night. Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The Garden is located at 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10458 and is off the Bronx River Parkway at Fordham Road (Exit 7W). We recommend using public transportation; NYBG is easily accessible via Metro-North Railroad and by subway. Find complete directions at nybg.org/directions.

  • Convenient parking is available for $15 during the week and $20 on Saturdays, Sundays, CHIHULY Nights, Monday openings, and holiday weeks. Limited parking is available on the Garden grounds. On peak days, you may be directed to park at facilities across the street from Garden entrances. Follow signs and Garden personnel directions to available parking spaces.

  • Check the forecast before you visit. The Garden’s events and exhibitions are located indoors and outdoors; please dress accordingly and be prepared to walk. The Garden will make every effort to hold events and programs as scheduled. Modification or cancellation of an event or program is dependent on weather conditions at the Garden. Keep in mind that the Garden does not have coat/bag check facilities.   • Pick up a Garden map at an entry gate or equip yourself with the CHIHULY Interactive Guide to get additional information about Dale Chihuly’s installations and artistic process as you navigate the exhibition.

    The Garden Tram Tour is also included in All-Garden Pass admission and offers an overview of the Garden’s 250-acre landscape, its history, and its programs. Hop off and explore at any of the nine stops.

    Most key areas of the Garden are wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs may be rented free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the Visitor Center, Mosholu Gate, and Bedford Park Gate. Reservations are not accepted. An ID must be left with Visitor Services. We cannot guarantee availability and strongly recommend you travel with your personal mobility device.   • Hudson Garden Grill | Across from the Conservatory

  • The Garden is a living museum and we ask that visitors respect NYBG’s landscape and help preserve its collections.

    • Stay on paths, picnic on Daffodil Hill only, and keep your pets at home.
    • Do not pick flowers, climb trees, or touch art works.
    • Recreational sports, group exercise, bicycles, and toy scooters are not permitted on Garden grounds.
    • Photography is prohibited in the Art Gallery.
    • Strollers, tripods/monopods, easels, selfie sticks, food, and drink are not permitted in the Conservatory, Art Gallery, and Ross Hall.
    • Smoking is prohibited on Garden grounds.
    • Never feed or approach wildlife at the Garden.
