Cattails are a familiar summer sight in wetlands—and they’re full of unique adaptations for kids to discover.

From its recognizable, fuzzy brown bundle of developing seeds, to its waxy leaves and rhizome stem, the cattail is perfectly equipped to live in ponds and swamps.
