Public Transportation

    • Just 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan! Take the Metro-North Harlem local line to Botanical Garden Station, located directly across the street from the Garden’s Mosholu Entrance. For schedules, maps, and accessibility of stations visit the MTA website.

    • Traveling within New York City, which includes Grand Central Terminal to Botanical Garden Station, you can get a City Ticket for $5 during off-peak hours or $7 during peak hours!

    • Take the B, D, or 4 train to Bedford Park Blvd. Station. From the station exit: Take the Bx25 or Bx26 bus east to the Garden’s Mosholu Entrance.
    • OR walk eight blocks down the hill on Bedford Park Blvd (approximately 20 minutes). Turn left onto Southern Blvd. and walk one block to Mosholu Entrance.
    • Take the 2 train to Allerton Ave. station. From the station exit: Walk three blocks west on Allerton Ave. Turn left on Bronx Park East and walk two blocks to Waring Ave. At the park entrance, walk up the small hill leading directly to the Garden’s East Gate (open for daytime access only).

Entry Points

    • Located at 2900 Southern Boulevard, this is the main entrance for Garden visitors arriving via personal vehicle or MTA bus lines Bx19, Bx12, Bx22, Bx9, and Bx17.
    • Open daily during regular Garden hours.
    • Taxi, car service, and rideshare drop-off and pick-up for visitors is located just outside the entrance gates. Paratransit services such as Access-A-Ride and personal vehicles with a disability permit may access interior drop-off and pick-up points.
    • Located at 2950 Southern Boulevard, this is the closest entrance for visitors arriving via Metro-North Railroad to the Botanical Garden station; MTA subway lines B, D, and 4 to Bedford Park Boulevard stations; and MTA bus lines Bx25, Bx26, Bx41, and Bx34.
    • Open daily during regular Garden hours with extended hours for classes and special events.
    • Personal vehicle access is strictly limited to special event attendees (ex: wedding guests), conference and lecture attendees, and adult education students.
    • Located on Southern Boulevard across from Fordham University, this entrance is for school bus drop off and pick up only.
    • Open Tuesday through Friday from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. for schools and organizations registered for Children’s Education programs and/or events.
    • School groups who walk to the Garden should also enter here to check in.
    • Located at the corner of Waring Avenue and Bronx Park East, this Pedestrian-only daytime gate is most convenient for visitors arriving via MTA subway line 2 to the Allerton Avenue station.
    • Open during regular daytime Garden hours only.
    • Arrived at East Gate outside its normal operating hours? You may enter the Garden via the Mosholu Entrance, which is a short bus ride away. Walk north on Bronx Park East for 2 blocks until you reach Allerton Ave. On the corner of Allerton Ave and Barker Ave, take the BX25 or Bx26 bus west to the Garden’s Mosholu Entrance—just 1 stop away.

Parking

  • $22 per vehicle. Members may park for free with a valid Member Pass, or for $11 when not redeeming a pass. Supporting Members and above always receive complimentary parking.

    Enter via the Main Entrance at 2900 Southern Boulevard for onsite parking. Additional Garden parking is available at the NYBG Parking Garage. Please follow the signage and note the NYBG staff members directing traffic.

    During peak visitation days, parking in and around the Garden may be limited. Refer to the list of independent garages below when NYBG parking is at capacity.

  • $22 for Garden visitors. Members may park for free with a valid Member Pass, or for $11 when not redeeming a pass. Supporting Members and above always receive complimentary parking.

    The Peter Jay Sharp Building, our secure parking facility, is located at 401 Bedford Park Blvd. and adjacent to the Metro-North Botanical Garden Station. NYBG visitors must validate their parking at a Garden ticket window to avoid paying event and non-visitor rates.

    The NYBG Parking Garage is open 24/7, making it a convenient location for commuters, neighbors, and others looking for an affordable parking solution. With a variety of competitive rates and packages, it is ideal for your Garden visit or a great option for “park and ride.”

    Daily:

    • Up to 1 hour: $9
    • Up to 2 hours: $11
    • Up to 12 hours: $15
    • Up to 24 hours: $32

    Weekdays: Enter Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; includes tax.

    • Up to 1 hour: $9
    • Up to 2 hours: $11
    • Up to 12 hours: $22
    • Up to 24 hours: $32

    Weekends and Evenings: Enter Saturday, Sunday, Monday Garden openings, and holiday weeks, 24 hours a day; includes tax.

    • Up to 1 hours: $9
    • Up to 24 hours: $32

    Lost Ticket:
    Maximum 24-hour rate is charged if the ticket is not presented upon exiting.

    Monthly:

    Weekday Access: $200, includes tax. Unlimited access between 5 a.m. Monday and 1 a.m. the following Saturday.

    24/7 Access: $350, includes tax. Unlimited access for the month.

    As a benefit of parking at the NYBG garage, monthly account holders are granted complimentary NYBG grounds access.

  • For special events such as weddings, classes, and lectures, please enter via the Mosholu Entrance (2950 Southern Blvd.), where you will be directed by a security guard.

Biking

  • NYBG offers free bicycle racks at all entry gates. We encourage biking as an alternate and more sustainable mode of transportation.

    Biking is not permitted anywhere on Garden grounds.
